=== Working dataset for paper: A preliminary analysis of localization in free software: how translations are performed === Author: Laura Arjona Reina and Gregorio Robles and Jesús M. González-Barahona === Location: http://gsyc.urjc.es/~grex/repro/oss2013-translations === Release Date: March 2013 === Version number: 1.0 === License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 ==== Tables and graphs at oss2013_l10n_research_script.ods We have gathered the information presented in this work from different sources: the public available sources as websites of the projects, documentation, mailing lists for translators, and related literature showed in the bibliography. For each libre software project analyzed, we have written down the following aspects: if there is information about how to localize the project, the recommended tools and website (if any) of localization, if there is a internationalization team and localization teams, and other remarkable aspects. For each libre software tool or web platform analyzed, we have annotated our research script with the following aspects: the type of localization tool (standalone software, plugin, web platform...), year of first release, original project for which was developed (if any), number of projects that use the tool (if it is stated in the main website of the tool), well-known projects that use the tool, other remarkable aspects. The information here has been gathered between January - June 2012 and reviewed and completed on September 2012 and January 2013. The Android and Windows projects have been selected among the most downloaded projects: * SourceForge download statistics for Windows projects: http:\\sourceforge.net\top * F-Droid download statistics for Android projects: http://gitorious.org/f-droid/fdroiddata/trees/master/stats For FLOSS distributions, GNU/Linux software and cross-platform projects, we chose the major projects and desktops and some popular projects that are not included in the desktop projects.
