Text: Dear Dr. Scratch Team,
My name is Esra Cakiroglu, and I am currently a student at RWTH Aachen University (Germany), studying Computer Science Education (Informatics for future teachers).
I am in the process of writing my Master's thesis, which focuses on assessing the Computational Thinking competences of secondary school students. For this purpose, I have developed my own measurement instrument, and I also plan to evaluate the Scratch projects created by the students.
While searching for tools to assist in the evaluation, I discovered your platform Dr. Scratch, which I find very helpful and thoughtfully designed.
However, I have a few questions and I hope you might be able to assist me:
I could not find detailed documentation explaining how exactly projects are classified into different competence levels (for example, when a project is labeled "Master").
Could you kindly provide information on:
What competence levels exist in Dr. Scratch,
How many points are needed to reach each level,
And how these levels are defined?
Additionally, it would be very helpful for my research if you could clarify a few further aspects:
Is there any weighting between the different dimensions (e.g., Logic, Flow Control, Data Representation) when calculating the final score?
Are there any scientific publications or internal guidelines that describe the development, calibration, or validation process of Dr. Scratch?
I would be very grateful for any information you could share. Your answers would greatly support the theoretical foundation and evaluation design of my thesis.
Thank you very much in advance for your time and help!
Best regards,
Esra Cakiroglu
