Hi,

there is available a new version of the debian packages, it's
JdeRobot-5.3.1, so you can download it using the  manual
<http://jderobot.org/Manual-5#Installing_JdeRobot_5>  . You can leave here
all the problems you have with them. 
There is packages for bot 32 and 64 bits architectures of Ubuntu 14.04.
